Kitchen Assistant, Guernsey
Our client is a fast-paced local catering and food retail provider with multiple busy outlets across Guernsey. Known for their high-volume, quality grab-and-go food production, they supply both their own popular central hubs and major off-premises retail outlets. They are currently looking for a hard-working individual to join their dynamic production team.
The Role
This position offers high volume hours and an opportunity to develop a broad range of skills. While the primary focus is assisting in the kitchen, full in-house training will be provided to help support the front-of-house counter, take orders, and serve customers.
Key responsibilities include:
• Food Production: Preparing a wide range of hot and cold deli items, including sandwiches, wraps, rolls, and salads for onsite and offsite retail.
• Kitchen Operations: Maintaining high standards of hygiene, stocking counters, and supporting daily kitchen operations.
• Customer Service: Greeting customers, taking accurate orders, and delivering quick, efficient service during peak hours.
• The Schedule: Early morning starts are required. The role involves working six days a week, averaging between 55 to 60 hours per week, with at least one day off.
About You
The ideal candidate needs to be in good health and possess the physical stamina required to thrive in a high-volume, fast-moving catering environment.
They are looking for the following attributes:
• A good understanding of the English language to communicate effectively with the team and customers.
• Prior commercial kitchen or catering experience is preferred, though not strictly essential as training is provided.
• A strong work ethic and the flexibility to adapt quickly between food prep and customer service.
• This position is well-suited for individuals on a 9-month on, 9-month off rotation, or those holding STEP licensing status.
