Head / Sous Chef, Guernsey
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Chef to join a lively and well-loved brasserie and bar in Guernsey. Known for its hearty, freshly cooked dishes and friendly team atmosphere, this busy venue offers the chance to step into a well-equipped kitchen and work closely with an experienced chef-owner who’s hands-on and happy to mentor. This position offers full responsibility for kitchen operations and would suit a confident Head Chef or a strong Second Chef ready to step up. As the role is based within an open kitchen, fluent spoken and written English is essential to ensure clear communication with guests and team members alike.
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
• Cooking fresh, quality food for busy lunch and dinner service.
• Supporting daily kitchen operations and service flow.
• Working closely with the chef-owner on menu ideas and specials.
• Keeping high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation.
• Pitching in as a reliable, team-focused presence in the kitchen.
• Helping to maintain the venue’s strong local reputation.
The Ideal Candidate
A confident, dependable Chef with experience in brasseries, pubs, or fast-paced kitchens. You will need to be hands-on, service-ready, and comfortable working solo or as part of a small, friendly team. A genuine love for honest food, a solid work ethic, and a good sense of humour will fit in well here. Start Date: 25 January 2026
