Porter / Relief Night Porter – Live-in Available – Guernsey

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established hotel in the heart of St. Peter Port, Guernsey, offering a varied front-of-house position that combines day porter duties with occasional night shifts. Live-in accommodation is available, making it an ideal role for someone looking to relocate or seeking a stable position within a friendly and professional environment.

As part of the front-of-house team, the successful candidate will support both day operations and, occasionally, night porter responsibilities. Full training will be provided for night shifts, and additional compensation will be awarded for any overnight work completed.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
• Welcoming and assisting guests on arrival, including handling luggage and offering a warm, professional greeting.
• Ensuring public areas and cloakrooms are kept clean and presentable throughout the day.
• Supporting reception and other departments with general assistance as required.
• Performing light maintenance tasks and addressing basic guest requests.
• Managing the security of the building and guests overnight when covering as night porter.
• Serving residents at the night bar and handling telephone calls professionally.
• Ensuring reception and front-of-house areas are clean and secure.
• Completing handovers and maintaining communication across shifts.

The ideal candidate will have:
A smart appearance, excellent communication skills, and a courteous demeanour. A calm, flexible, and team-oriented approach is essential, along with a willingness to learn and take on varied responsibilities. Candidates should be comfortable working independently during night shifts when required and display a proactive attitude to guest service.
