Housekeeper, Guernsey

This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected residential care facility in Guernsey as a Housekeeper. This Home offers a supportive working environment, focused on delivering high standards of cleanliness and personal care. The successful candidate will contribute to a team that plays a vital role in maintaining a comfortable and hygienic setting for residents.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
• Performing routine cleaning throughout the care home in line with established schedules and procedures.
• Managing laundry tasks including receiving, laundering, drying, ironing, and distributing items.
• Liaising with the Manager to ensure cleaning supply stocks are maintained and appropriate.
• Supporting the general upkeep of laundry and linen stores to a clean, tidy and safe standard.
• Reporting any damaged or faulty equipment immediately to the Maintenance Officer.
• Using all cleaning equipment and products safely, following manufacturer instructions and health and safety standards.
• Occasionally assisting with kitchen duties and supporting care staff with non-medical resident needs such as making beds or serving meals.
• Participating in fire drills, evacuation procedures, and regular training as required.
• Attending internal meetings and engaging in ongoing learning to enhance skills in person-centred care.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a positive, respectful and compassionate attitude with a strong interest in supporting elderly individuals. A good level of communication and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential. While a minimum of two years’ relevant experience is typically required, this criterion does not apply to candidates who already hold their own Employment Permit. Candidates must have completed Infection Control Training and hold a current Food Hygiene Certificate.
