Receptionist, Guernsey
This is an exciting opportunity to join the welcoming Front Office team at a popular hotel located on the outskirts of St Peter Port. The hotel offers excellent leisure facilities and prides itself on delivering a warm and professional guest experience. The successful candidate will play a key role as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a seamless and memorable stay.
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
• Greeting guests warmly and managing check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
• Handling reservations, cancellations, and amendments via telephone, email, and online platforms.
• Providing accurate information on hotel services and assisting with concierge requests such as restaurant bookings and taxi arrangements.
• Managing guest accounts, processing payments, and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
• Liaising with housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance teams to fulfil guest needs promptly.
• Responding professionally to guest queries, complaints, and special requests.
• Ensuring the reception area remains tidy, well-presented, and stocked with relevant materials.
• Upholding security procedures and key control protocols.
• Assisting with administrative tasks and supporting the Front Office Manager and Hotel Manager as required.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a hotel reception or customer service role and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. A professional appearance, excellent organisational abilities, and the capacity to stay calm under pressure are essential. Proficiency with hotel property management systems is advantageous, although full training will be provided. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding guest service are crucial for this role.
