Retail Manager, Guernsey
Our client is a well-established luxury retail boutique in St Peter Port, specializing in natural health and beauty products. They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of both the physical store and the online platform. This is a full time role.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take full ownership of the retail operations, ensuring an exceptional customer experience while driving sales and business growth.
Key responsibilities:
• Oversee daily store operations, ensuring excellent customer service and a welcoming boutique environment.
• Manage sales targets, implementing promotions and strategies to drive revenue.
• Develop and implement marketing plans, including email newsletters, social media campaigns, and local PR initiatives.
• Act as the primary keyholder, ensuring store security and responding to emergencies as required.
• Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Oversee inventory control, ensuring stock levels are maintained and accurate.
• Manage product purchasing, price adjustments, and stock rotation to minimize waste.
• Organize promotional events and in-store activities to enhance customer engagement.
• Ensure the boutique maintains high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety.
• Manage website updates and online sales, ensuring an optimized e-commerce presence.
• Handle financial reporting, banking, and budget management.
• Oversee visual merchandising, ensuring compliance with the brand image.
• Resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally and efficiently.
The successful candidate will have:
• Proven retail management experience, preferably within a luxury or boutique environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
• A proactive and creative mindset with a keen eye for merchandising and marketing.
• Experience with IT systems, EPOS management, and e-commerce platforms.
• Excellent customer service and sales abilities, with a passion for the retail industry.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask.
• A willingness to work flexibly, covering staff absence and attending store events outside normal hours.
• A keen interest in natural health and beauty products, with a commitment to staying up to date with new trends.
